small church. big gospel. enough grace to go around.
Michelle Walka – Intern

My husband, Keith, and I moved here from Florida last July to study at Luther Seminary in the Master of Divinity Program.  My undergraduate degree is in social work.   In Florida, I was the Youth and Family Ministry Director for the past 4 years at St. Timothy Lutheran Church.  Previous to this position, I have been involved in a variety of local, national, and international ministries (ranging from summer camp programs and retreats for all ages to accompaniment trips to Guyana and Puerto Rico).

Résumé aside, my passion is people of all ages and how we can grow together in faith as well as how we connect our faith to daily living.  I pray we can wrestle together with the simple yet complex question of “What does it mean to be a follower of Christ?” in a variety of different ways.  Besides wrestling with tough questions, I enjoy playing guitar, arts and crafts projects, spending time in the outdoors, and cooking (or at least experimenting in the kitchen).
