Epiphany danceWere you at Humble Walk worship last Sunday? If so, we were some of the lucky folk who experienced worship with a live vinyl soundtrack. Michael Morris, in dj form, was our artist-in-residence. He provided appropriate and timely music on the fly. So, when Jeremiah stood up to read the Gospel story about the 3 Wise Men–we heard some crazy 70′s version of We Three Kings in the back ground. During the re-enactment of the story, when the 3 Kings finally make their way to the Holy Family–we heard O Come Let Us Adore Him. Time for Holy Communion? We hear Why, Me Lord? (Listen here: Kris Kristofferson). It had great potential to be ridiculously cheesy. But you know, it was Michael and Humble Walk–so somehow it worked.

Then, after we all stood at the door of the art space and prayed for all the people who will come in and out of that door this year, we did a chalk blessing. Then we rolled up the rug and danced like fools. Pizza arrived. People hung around the punch bowl. Joy abounded.
This community of mostly introverts danced like fools. Also, it didn’t even matter that this took place during the Polar Vortex of Doom because we burned that place down!

Want to do a dance? Hire Michael.
